A Study on the Factors Influencing the Satisfaction of Medical Service : Case of Korean Medicine College¡¯s Medical Service Club Student

Abstract
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between participation behavior (spontaneity, welfare, unpaid service and regularity) and Korean medicine college students' satisfaction about medical service, aspect of general, emotional, social and personal capacity enhancement. In addition, correlation between of perception toward doctor-atient equal relationships and students' satisfaction were investigated.

Methods : The questionnaires used in this study consisted of participation behavior, satisfaction about medical service, perception toward doctor-patient equal relationships and sociodemographic characteristics. 30 of 31 cases were analyzed.

Results : Only welfare showed a significant positive correlation with the general (p¡´0.01) and emotional (p¡´0.001) aspect of satisfaction. Grade of student were negatively related to the acquisition of knowledge related to major and motivation for study, which are sub-factors of personal capacity enhancement (P¡´ 0.05).

Conclusions : Welfare has positively influenced general and emotional satisfaction with medical service. And emotional satisfaction can be seen as influencing the students' positive thinking and self-realization. So education related to welfare prior to volunteering activities could have a positive impact on students participating in medical service.
